Movelat Relief Gel - 40g

Movelat Relief Gel is a mild to moderate anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving gel for use on the skin. It contains mucopolysaccharide polysulfate (MPS) 0.2% w/w and salicylic acid 2.0% w/w.

It is used for the relief of:

• Muscular pain and stiffness
• Sprains and strains
• Pain associated with rheumatic conditions and non-serious arthritic conditions

The gel is colourless, easy to apply, and designed to be gently massaged into the affected area for targeted relief.

For external use only. Do not swallow.

Who can use it

• Adults, the elderly and children aged 12 years and over

Directions

• Before first use, pierce the tube seal using the spiked top of the cap.
• Apply 2–6 inches (5–15 cm) of gel (depending on the size of the area).
• Gently massage into the affected area.
• Use up to 4 times a day.
• Do not exceed this dose.
• Wash hands immediately after use, unless the hands are the treated area.

If symptoms do not improve

• Speak to a doctor or pharmacist if your signs of illness or injury do not improve or get worse.

If swallowed

• If you accidentally swallow some gel, contact a doctor or hospital casualty department. Symptoms may include rapid breathing, ringing in the ears, deafness, light-headedness or sweating.

Active ingredients (per 100g)

• Mucopolysaccharide polysulfate (MPS) 0.2% w/w
• Salicylic acid 2.0% w/w

Other ingredients

Isopropyl alcohol, monoethanolamine, carbomer, disodium edetate, polyethylene glyceryl-oleate, rosemary oil (contains citral, eugenol, geraniol, linalool, citronellol and limonene), purified water.

Do not use this medicine if:

• You are allergic to MPS, salicylic acid, aspirin-like medicines, or other related painkillers known as NSAIDs (this is particularly important if you have asthma).
• You are allergic to any of the other ingredients.
• You have broken skin, infected skin, or eczema.
• You are applying it to large areas of skin.
• You intend to use it on or near sensitive areas such as the mouth, eyes, or ano-genital regions.
• The patient is a child under 12 years.

Warnings and precautions

Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before use if:

• You are pregnant or breast-feeding.
• You suffer from asthma.
• You have pre-existing kidney (renal) damage.
• You are using any prescribed medicines.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

• Do not use during the first three months or last three months of pregnancy.
• Do not use on the breast area during breast-feeding.

Medicine interactions

• Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking coumarin anticoagulants (blood thinners) such as warfarin.

Skin sensitivity

• Some people may experience discomfort, particularly if they have sensitive skin, use in hot weather, or use after a bath.
• Stop using if irritation or unwanted effects occur.

Fire safety warning

• Do not smoke or go near naked flames: risk of severe burns. Fabric (clothing, bedding, dressings) that has been in contact with this product burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard. Washing may reduce build-up but may not remove it fully.

Possible side effects

Rarely, in sensitive individuals, the gel may cause:

• Redness
• Burning sensation
• Rash

If any of these occur, stop using and speak to a doctor or pharmacist. Side effects can also be reported via the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

Storage

• Store below 25°C.
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date on the carton/tube.
