Nicorette 2mg Icy White Whitening Chewing Gum - 210 Pieces

Nicorette® 2mg Icy White Whitening Chewing Gum is a nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) used to relieve and/or prevent nicotine withdrawal symptoms and reduce cravings when you are:

• Stopping smoking or vaping
• Cutting down the number of cigarettes/e-cigarettes you use
• Managing cravings during temporary abstinence (when you can’t or don’t want to smoke/vape).

How it works

When chewed correctly, nicotine is released from the gum and absorbed through the lining of the mouth to help control cravings and withdrawal symptoms.

Whitening benefit

The Icy White formulation includes ingredients designed to help improve the whiteness of teeth while you use it.

Who the 2mg strength is for

Suitable if you smoke 20 cigarettes or fewer per day or are a light to moderate vaper (for example, vape infrequently or use lower-strength e-liquid).

Pack size

• 210 pieces (blister packed).

Who can use it

• Adults and children aged 12 years and over
• Not for children under 12 years.

Dose

• Chew 1 piece when you feel the urge to smoke or vape.
• Use only one piece at a time.
• Do not use more than 15 pieces a day.

Chew-and-rest technique (important)

Nicorette gum is not chewed like ordinary chewing gum. Chewing too quickly can release nicotine too fast and may cause throat irritation, hiccups or stomach upset.

1. Chew slowly until the taste becomes strong.
2. Rest between gum and cheek.
3. Chew again when the taste has faded.

• Continue for about 30 minutes, then dispose of the gum safely.

Dentures

The gum may stick to dentures and, rarely, damage them. If this is a problem, another form of NRT may be more suitable. 

Active ingredient

• Nicotine 2mg per medicated chewing gum.

Other ingredients

Chewing gum base, xylitol, peppermint oil, anhydrous sodium carbonate, acesulfame potassium, levomenthol, magnesium oxide, talc, winterfresh, hypromellose, sucralose, polysorbate 80, starch, titanium dioxide (E171), carnauba wax.

Also contains

• Chewing gum base contains butylated hydroxytoluene (E321).
• The 2mg gum also contains sodium hydrogen carbonate.
• Does not contain sugar (sucrose) or animal products. 

Do not use

• If you are allergic to nicotine or any of the ingredients.
• In children under 12 years.

Speak to a doctor, pharmacist or nurse before use if you:

• Are pregnant or breastfeeding (try to stop without NRT first; if you can’t, seek advice on suitable NRT use).
• Have heart or circulation problems (including recent heart attack, angina/chest pain, heart rhythm problems, stroke, or high blood pressure).
• Have a stomach/duodenal ulcer, inflammation of the stomach, or inflammation of the oesophagus.
• Have liver or kidney disease, an overactive thyroid, phaeochromocytoma, diabetes (you may need to monitor blood sugar more often), or a history of seizures (fits).
• Take medicines such as theophylline, clozapine or ropinirole (doses may need adjusting when you stop smoking).

Important safety information

• Keep out of the sight and reach of children and animals. Nicotine can be very dangerous to children and may be fatal if taken accidentally. Dispose of used gum carefully.
• Do not exceed 15 gums per day. If you use too many or use nicotine from other sources at the same time, symptoms of too much nicotine can occur. Seek urgent medical advice if concerned.

Possible side effects

Some effects are more common when starting NRT or if chewed too quickly, including throat irritation, hiccups, nausea, headache, mouth/throat soreness, and stomach upset/indigestion.

Stop using and get medical help immediately if you develop signs of a serious allergic reaction (such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, difficulty breathing, or severe dizziness).
