Description
Nurofen Meltlets Lemon 200mg – 12 Tablets are orodispersible (self-dissolving) ibuprofen tablets that melt on the tongue and can be taken without water, making them a handy option for on-the-go pain relief.
Each Meltlet contains ibuprofen 200mg, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that helps relieve pain, swelling (inflammation) and high temperature by changing the body’s response to pain and fever.
Used for short-term relief of:
- Headaches and migraine pain
- Dental pain and neuralgia
- Period pain
- Rheumatic, muscular and back pain
- Feverishness and symptoms of cold and flu
Format: Lemon-flavoured Meltlets designed to dissolve quickly on the tongue.
Pack size: 12 orodispersible tablets.
How to Use
Always read the leaflet before use. For oral administration and short-term use only. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time needed to relieve symptoms.
Dosage
Adults, the elderly, and children aged 12 years and over:
- Take 1 or 2 tablets, up to three times a day as required
- Leave at least 4 hours between doses
- Do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours
- Not for children under 12 years
How to take
- Place a tablet on the tongue, allow it to dissolve, then swallow. No water is required.
How long to take
- Children and adolescents (12–18 years): contact a doctor if symptoms worsen or do not improve after 3 days
- Adults: contact a doctor if symptoms worsen or do not improve after 10 days

Ethylcellulose (E462), Silicon Dioxide (E551), Hypromellose (E464), Mannitol (E420), Aspartame (E951), Croscarmellose Sodium (E468), Magnesium Stearate (E572), Lemon flavouring (lemon flavours, maltodextrin).
Side Effects & Warnings
Contains ibuprofen. Read all warnings carefully before use.
Do not take Nurofen Meltlets Lemon if you:
- Are allergic to ibuprofen, any ingredient, aspirin or other painkillers
- Have ever had a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding
- Have had gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation when previously taking NSAIDs
- Have had worsening of asthma, skin rash, itchy runny nose or facial swelling when previously taking ibuprofen/aspirin/NSAIDs
- Are taking other NSAIDs
- Are taking more than 75mg aspirin a day (if you take low-dose aspirin up to 75mg daily, seek advice before use)
- Have severe liver or kidney problems
- Have heart problems, high blood pressure or a blood coagulation disorder, or have breathing difficulties
- Are in the last 3 months of pregnancy
- Are under 12 years old
Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before taking if you:
- Have or have had asthma
- Have kidney, heart, liver or bowel problems
- Have high cholesterol, are a smoker, or have previously had a heart attack or stroke
- Have a history of ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease, or Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
- Are in the first 6 months of pregnancy
- Have phenylketonuria or are intolerant to phenylalanine (contains aspartame)
- Have an infection: ibuprofen may mask signs such as fever and pain; seek advice if symptoms persist or worsen
Stop taking and seek urgent medical help if:
- You notice signs of a serious allergic reaction (breathing problems, swelling of face/neck, chest pain)
- You develop severe skin reactions (including blistering/peeling rashes)
- You get signs of stomach bleeding (e.g., vomiting blood, black stools)
Possible side effects
Examples include stomach upset (indigestion, abdominal pain), and less commonly diarrhoea/constipation/vomiting. Rarely, more serious effects can occur including stomach ulcers/bleeding, blood disorders, liver problems, swelling, high blood pressure, heart failure or attack.
Anti-inflammatory medicines like ibuprofen may be associated with a small increased risk of heart attack or stroke, especially at higher doses or with prolonged use.
Side effects can be reported via the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.
Storage
Do not store above 25°C. Store in the original pack. Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
