Vismed Gel Eye Drops - Pack of 20

Vismed Gel Eye Drops 0.3% are sterile, preservative-free lubricating eye gel drops supplied in single-dose 0.45ml vials to help relieve symptoms and signs of dry eye and/or ocular surface damage.

With a higher concentration of sodium hyaluronate (0.3%), Vismed Gel forms a transparent, long-lasting coating on the surface of the eye that is only slowly removed by blinking. This supports sustained lubrication and longer-lasting comfort when dryness is persistent.

Suitable for dry eye symptoms such as dryness, burning, gritty/foreign-body sensation and ocular fatigue, including when triggered by everyday factors such as dust, smoke, dry heat, air conditioning, wind, cold, prolonged screen use, and contact lens wear (soft or rigid).

For use in the eyes only.

Dose

• Instil 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) as often as needed, unless otherwise advised by an eye care professional. After blinking, the gel disperses and forms a long-lasting coating.

Step-by-step

1. Twist off the tab/cap of one single-dose container.
2. Tilt your head back and pull down the lower eyelid.
3. Hold the tip above the eye and gently press the container to release a drop (repeat if needed).
4. Blink normally.

Contact lenses

• Vismed Gel may be used while wearing contact lenses (rigid or soft).

Using with other eye products

• Do not use Vismed Gel at the same time as other eye medicines/products. Leave at least 15 minutes between different eye products (follow specific clinical advice if prescribed items are involved).

After opening

• Because it contains no preservatives, the solution should be used within 12 hours after opening a single-dose container. Discard any remaining solution after that time. 

Active ingredient

• Sodium hyaluronate 0.3% (3.0mg per 1ml) (from fermentation)

• Potassium chloride
• Disodium phosphate
• Sodium citrate
• Magnesium chloride
• Calcium chloride
• Water for injections

The solution is hypotonic.

Preservatives: None (preservative-free). 

Do not use

• If you are hypersensitive/allergic to any ingredient.
• If the single-dose container is damaged.

Warnings and precautions

• To reduce contamination and infection risk: do not touch the tip of the opened container and do not let the tip touch the eye or any surface.
• Use within 12 hours of opening and discard any remainder after that (sterility is no longer guaranteed beyond this period).
• If discomfort persists while using Vismed Gel, consult a healthcare professional (pharmacist/optometrist/GP).

Possible side effects (very rare)

• Transient effects may include conjunctival irritation, foreign-body sensation, redness, burning, and short-term blurred vision.

Seek urgent advice if you develop eye pain, significant redness, swelling, discharge, light sensitivity, or changes in vision, or if symptoms worsen or do not improve.

Storage

• Store below 30°C. Do not freeze. Do not use after the expiry date. Keep out of reach of children.
