Care Menthol Crystals BP – 5g are pure menthol crystals compliant with the British Pharmacopoeia (BP), intended as a traditional, medicine-free respiratory aid. When added to hot (not boiling) water, these crystals release a powerful menthol vapour that can help relieve blocked nasal passages, sinus congestion, chest catarrh and breathing discomfort associated with colds or viral infections.

The strong, refreshing vapour produced during steam inhalation helps open airways and can promote easier breathing. Care Menthol Crystals are commonly included in home remedy kits for coughs, colds, sinusitis and aeroplane ear pressure relief, but must be used with caution, especially around children and individuals with respiratory conditions.

Steam inhalation method (general adult use):

1. Place a small heat-proof bowl on a stable surface.
2. Add hot but not boiling water.
3. Drop one to two menthol crystals into the water using tweezers or a spoon.
4. Allow menthol vapour to rise, then lean over the bowl (keeping the face at least ~20 cm away) and inhale gently through the nose and mouth.
5. Cover head and bowl with a towel to concentrate vapour if needed.
6. Inhale for 5–10 minutes, taking breaks as required.

Frequency: May be repeated up to 2–3 times daily during periods of congestion, ensuring breaks between inhalations.

General guidance:

• Keep a safe distance from hot water to avoid burns.
• Use in a well-ventilated room and discontinue if irritation occurs.
