Hylo-Night Eye Ointment - 5g

Hylo-Night is a sterile, preservative-free eye ointment containing Vitamin A (retinol palmitate) to improve the tear film and protect the ocular surface.

It is a soft, smooth ointment that spreads easily across the eye surface. Vitamin A is a natural component of the tear film, helping the ointment blend well with your tears and support comfortable eyelid movement over the eye surface.

Suitable for symptoms commonly linked to dry eye, such as:

• Burning, itching, dryness, tired eyes
• Foreign-body (gritty) sensation
• Drying environments (air-conditioning), cigarette smoke, age, medication side effects, night driving, and prolonged screen use

Because the ointment is thicker, it may slightly blur vision, so it is recommended before bedtime to help reduce sore eyes on waking.

Pack size: 5g tube. 

Always use as directed in the leaflet or as advised by your pharmacist/optometrist/doctor.

Standard use:

• Typically once daily before going to bed.

If symptoms are severe:

• May be applied up to 3 times a day (if you need to use it more often, ask your doctor).

How to apply (SOP-style steps):

1. Wash hands.
2. Remove the cap.
3. Tilt head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid.
4. Hold tube upright above the eye and apply one small strip into the gap between eye and eyelid by gently squeezing the tube.
5. Close the eye gently and blink normally to spread the ointment.
6. Replace the cap firmly. Do not let the tube tip touch the eye, eyelids, skin, or any surface (contamination risk).

Using with other eye medicines:

• Do not use at the same time as other ophthalmic medicines. If needed, apply Hylo-Night about 30 minutes after the other eye medicine.

After opening:

• Can be used for 6 months after opening. 

Per 1g contains:

• Retinol palmitate (Vitamin A) 250 IU

Base ingredients:

• Liquid paraffin
• Light liquid paraffin
• Wool fat (lanolin)
• White soft vaseline (white soft paraffin)

Free from: preservatives.

Do not use if:

• You are allergic/hypersensitive to any ingredient.
• You are wearing contact lenses (remove lenses before use).
• Immediately after eye surgery or in acute eye injuries (no clinical studies for this use).

Vision and safety:

• May cause temporary blurred vision due to its greasy consistency. Do not drive, use machinery, or do hazardous tasks until vision is clear.

Possible side effects:

• Very rare hypersensitivity reactions such as red, burning or itching eyes, or excessive tearing. Stop use if this occurs and seek advice.

Hygiene warnings:

• Do not let the tube tip touch the eye or any surface.
• Do not share with anyone else.

Storage:

• Do not store above 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
