Description
Panadol Period Pain – 14 Tablets are paracetamol + caffeine tablets designed to relieve period pain (menstrual cramps) and help you stay comfortable during your cycle.
Each tablet contains paracetamol 500mg (a painkiller that also reduces fever) and caffeine 65mg, which helps improve the effectiveness of paracetamol.
Suitable for relief of:
- Period pain
- Headache and migraine
- Backache
- Toothache
- Rheumatic pain
- Fever, aches and pains associated with colds and flu
Contains paracetamol. Do not take with any other paracetamol-containing products.
How to Use
Always read the leaflet before use.
Adults and children aged 16 years and over:
- Swallow 2 tablets every 4 hours as needed
- Do not take more than 8 tablets in 24 hours
Children aged 12–15 years:
- Swallow 1 tablet every 4 hours as needed
- Do not give more than 4 tablets in 24 hours
Important directions
- Do not take more frequently than every 4 hours
- Do not give to children under 12 years
- Avoid too much caffeine from drinks such as tea, coffee and energy drinks while taking this product
- If symptoms continue or your headache becomes persistent, seek medical advice
If you take too many: get medical help straight away, even if you feel well. Taking too much paracetamol can cause delayed, serious liver damage.
Ingredients
Active ingredients (per tablet):
- Paracetamol 500mg
- Caffeine 65mg
Other ingredients:
Pregelatinised starch, povidone K-25, calcium carbonate, crospovidone, alginic acid, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose.
Film coating ingredients:
Titanium dioxide (E171), hypromellose, macrogol, polysorbate 80, carnauba wax.
Side Effects & Warnings
Do not take:
- If you have ever had an allergic reaction to paracetamol, caffeine, or any of the other ingredients
- If you are taking any other prescription or non-prescription medicines containing paracetamol (including cold/flu products and some sleep aids)
Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before use if:
- You have liver or kidney problems
- You are underweight or regularly drink alcohol
- You have severe infection/serious illness (including severe kidney impairment or sepsis), malnutrition, chronic alcoholism, or you are taking flucloxacillin (rare risk of metabolic acidosis; seek urgent advice if you develop deep rapid breathing, drowsiness, nausea/vomiting, loss of appetite)
- You take metoclopramide or domperidone (for nausea/vomiting), or colestyramine (to lower cholesterol)
- You take blood thinners (e.g., warfarin) and need pain relief regularly
- You are taking lithium (this product is not recommended)
Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
- Due to the caffeine content, do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Possible side effects (stop taking and get medical advice immediately):
- Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling of mouth/face, shortness of breath)
- Severe skin reactions (rash/peeling, mouth ulcers)
- Breathing problems (more likely if you’ve had them before with aspirin/ibuprofen)
- Unexplained bruising or bleeding
- Signs of liver problems (nausea, sudden weight loss, loss of appetite, yellowing of eyes/skin)
