Anadin Extra Caplets - 16 Caplets

Anadin Extra Caplets – 16 provide short-term relief from mild to moderate pain and feverishness using a combination of aspirin, paracetamol and caffeine. Each caplet contains Aspirin 300mg, Paracetamol 200mg and Caffeine 45mg.

Aspirin and paracetamol relieve pain and reduce high temperature/fever, while caffeine helps increase the pain-relieving effect of the product.

Used for effective relief from mild to moderate pain including: headache, migraine, neuralgia, toothache, sore throat, period pains, sprains and strains, rheumatic pain, sciatica, lumbago, chronic muscle pain (fibrositis), muscular aches and pains, joint swelling and stiffness, influenza, feverishness and feverish colds.

Pack size: 16 caplets. 

Always read the leaflet before use. For oral administration and short-term use only.

Adults, the elderly and young people aged 16 and over:

• Take 2 caplets with water.
• If needed, repeat up to 4 times a day.
• Leave at least 4 hours between doses.
• Do not take more than 8 caplets in 24 hours.

Do not give to children under 16 years unless advised by a doctor (Reye’s syndrome risk).

Important:

• Do not take with any other paracetamol-containing products.
• Avoid excess caffeine intake (e.g., coffee/tea/energy drinks) and avoid alcohol during treatment.
• If symptoms worsen or do not improve, seek advice.

If you take too many: seek urgent medical advice immediately, even if you feel well (risk of delayed serious liver damage from paracetamol). 

Active ingredients (per caplet): Aspirin 300mg, Paracetamol 200mg, Caffeine 45mg.

Other ingredients: maize starch, microcrystalline cellulose (E460), hydrogenated vegetable oil, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (E464), polyethylene glycol, pregelatinised starch, povidone. 

Do not take if you:

• Are allergic to aspirin, paracetamol, caffeine, or any other ingredients.
• Have or have ever had a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding.
• Have haemophilia (blood doesn’t clot well) or gout.
• Are breast-feeding.
• Are in late pregnancy / 3rd trimester.
• Have had asthma triggered by aspirin or other NSAIDs.

Speak to a pharmacist/doctor before taking if you:

Have asthma/allergic disease, dehydration, liver or kidney disease (including alcoholic liver disease), or G-6-PD deficiency.

If you are severely unwell (including severe kidney impairment or sepsis), malnourished, a chronic heavy alcohol user, or taking flucloxacillin, seek advice due to a rare but serious risk of metabolic acidosis with paracetamol in certain situations.

Interactions

Do not use if taking warfarin (blood thinner) or sulphinpyrazone (for gout).

Tell a pharmacist/doctor if you take other NSAIDs, corticosteroids, methotrexate, SSRIs, blood pressure medicines, anti-sickness medicines (metoclopramide/domperidone), epilepsy medicines (phenytoin/valproate), or flucloxacillin.

Possible side effects (seek urgent help if these occur)

Very rare but serious effects include: wheezing/breathing difficulty (especially in asthma), unexpected bleeding/bruising, severe allergic reaction (e.g., swelling, rash, breathing difficulty), serious skin reactions (blistering/rash), and liver dysfunction.

Storage

Do not store above 25°C. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date.
