Canesten Oral & Cream Duo

Canesten® Oral & Cream Duo is a complete thrush treatment pack designed to treat both the internal cause and external symptoms of vaginal thrush in a convenient two-step approach.

The pack contains a single-dose oral capsule to treat the infection from within, alongside a clotrimazole 2% external cream to relieve uncomfortable symptoms such as itching, redness and soreness around the vulval area.

This dual-action treatment works quickly and effectively against Candida yeast, the most common cause of thrush, providing comprehensive relief while helping prevent the infection from persisting.

Key features:

• Treats vaginal thrush internally and externally
• Single-dose oral capsule for convenience
• External cream relieves itching, soreness and irritation
• Clinically proven antifungal treatment
• Suitable for adults aged 16–60 years

Oral capsule:

• Swallow one capsule whole with water.
• Take at any time of day, with or without food.

External cream:

• Apply a thin layer to the affected external area.
• Use 2–3 times daily until symptoms improve.
• Treatment usually continues for up to 7 days.

Wash hands before and after use. The cream is for external use only.

• If symptoms do not improve within 7 days, or if they worsen, consult a pharmacist or GP.

Active ingredients:

• Oral capsule: Fluconazole
• External cream: Clotrimazole 2% w/w

Also contains:

• Excipients necessary to form the capsule and cream base

• Not suitable for children under 16 years or adults over 60 years without medical advice.
• Do not use if you are pregnant or trying to conceive unless advised by a healthcare professional.
• Do not use if you are allergic to fluconazole, clotrimazole, or any of the ingredients.
• Avoid contact of the cream with eyes and do not apply internally.

Possible side effects:

• Oral capsule: headache, nausea, stomach discomfort or skin rash
• Cream: mild burning, stinging or irritation at the application site

Stop use and seek medical advice if you experience severe side effects, an allergic reaction, or if symptoms persist or recur.

Important:

Do not use this product if this is your first episode of thrush, if symptoms are recurrent (more than twice in 6 months), or if you experience abnormal vaginal bleeding, unusual discharge, lower abdominal pain, fever, or an unpleasant odour.
