Description
Piriteze Allergy Relief Tablets are an antihistamine used to treat the allergic symptoms of hayfever (itchy or watery eyes, sneezing and a runny/itchy nose) and other allergies such as pet, house dust mite and mould spore allergies. They can also be used to relieve the rashes and itching of chronic urticaria (hives).
Each tablet contains cetirizine hydrochloride 10mg, which helps block the effects of histamine involved in allergic reactions, providing 24-hour symptom relief with once-daily dosing (for most adults and over-12s).
Typical symptoms helped:
- Sneezing and runny/blocked nose
- Itchy, watery eyes
- Itchy skin rash and hives (urticaria)
How to Use
Please read the enclosed leaflet before use. Use exactly as directed.
Adults and children aged 12 years and over:
- Swallow 1 tablet once a day.
Children aged 6 to 12 years:
- Swallow ½ tablet twice a day.
Children under 6 years:
- Not recommended (tablet not suitable).
If you have kidney problems:
- Speak to a doctor or pharmacist first, as a lower dose may be required.
Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Ingredients
Active ingredient (per tablet): Cetirizine hydrochloride 10mg.
Other ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, hypromellose (E464), macrogol 4000, titanium dioxide (E171), polydextrose.
Side Effects & Warnings
Do not take Piriteze Allergy Relief Tablets if:
- You have ever had an allergic reaction to antihistamines or any ingredient listed above.
- You have severe kidney problems.
Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before taking if:
- You have kidney problems (dose adjustment may be needed).
- You are epileptic or at risk of convulsions/fits.
- You have an enlarged prostate or difficulty passing urine.
- You are pregnant or breast-feeding.
Alcohol and driving:
- Be careful with alcohol as it can increase effects.
- May cause drowsiness in some people. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery.
Allergy skin tests:
- If you are having an allergy skin test, wait 3 days after taking before testing.
Possible side effects (not everyone gets them):
- Common: headache or dizziness, drowsiness or tiredness, restlessness, dry mouth, sore throat, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, nausea, runny nose.
- Uncommon: agitation, weakness/malaise, pins and needles, itching, rash or hives.
Stop taking and seek urgent medical help if you experience: sudden allergic reaction (rash, swelling of mouth/face, difficulty breathing), bruising/bleeding more easily than normal, convulsions/fits, or loss of consciousness.
Storage: Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Do not use after the EXP date on the pack.
