Description
Piriteze One a Day Tablets are an antihistamine containing cetirizine hydrochloride 10mg to relieve allergy symptoms caused by hayfever and other allergies such as pet, house dust mite and mould spore allergies. They can also be used to relieve the rashes and itching of chronic urticaria (hives).
Cetirizine works by helping to block the effects of histamine, the substance involved in allergic reactions.
Helps relieve:
- Sneezing
- Runny, itchy or blocked nose
- Itchy, watery eyes
- Itchy skin rashes and hives (urticaria)
How to Use
For oral use. Swallow with water. The tablet can be divided into equal doses.
Adults and children aged 12 years and over
- Take 1 tablet once a day.
Children aged 6 to 12 years
- Take ½ tablet twice a day.
Children under 6 years
- Not recommended for this tablet product.
Allergy testing
- If you are due to have an allergy skin test, antihistamines can affect results. Follow the leaflet advice (often stopping for several days beforehand).
If symptoms persist, worsen, or you are unsure the symptoms are allergy-related, seek advice.
Ingredients
Active ingredient (per tablet): Cetirizine hydrochloride 10mg.
Other ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate; film coat includes hypromellose (E464), macrogol 4000, titanium dioxide (E171) and polydextrose.

Side Effects & Warnings
Do not take if:
- You are allergic to cetirizine (or related antihistamines) or any ingredients.
- You have severe kidney problems.
Talk to a doctor or pharmacist before use if:
- You have kidney problems (a lower dose may be needed).
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You have difficulty passing urine, epilepsy, or are at risk of seizures (follow leaflet guidance).
Driving and alcohol
- Cetirizine is less likely to cause drowsiness than older antihistamines, but it can still affect some people. If you feel sleepy or dizzy, do not drive or use machinery. Be careful with alcohol.
Possible side effects (not everyone gets them) can include tiredness/drowsiness, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, nausea or stomach upset. Stop taking and get urgent help if you develop signs of a serious allergic reaction (swelling of face/lips/tongue/throat, breathing difficulty).
Storage: Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Store as directed on the pack.
