Piriton Syrup helps calm any symptoms of allergies and helps you feel better instantly. It can be used for relieving hayfever and allergy symptoms and is even effective for soothing itchiness when you have chickenpox.
Description
Piriton® Hayfever & Allergy Relief Syrup for Children is an antihistamine medicine used to help relieve the symptoms of hayfever and allergic conditions in children.
It contains chlorphenamine maleate, which works by blocking the effects of histamine, a substance produced by the body during an allergic reaction. Piriton® helps relieve symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, skin rashes and hives (urticaria).
The liquid formulation allows for accurate dosing and is suitable for children who may have difficulty swallowing tablets. It can also be used by adults when required.

How to Use
Always use the measuring spoon or cup provided.
Typical dosage (unless otherwise advised):
- Children aged 1–2 years: Only on medical advice
- Children aged 2–6 years: 2.5ml every 4–6 hours, up to 6 times daily
- Children aged 6–12 years: 5ml every 4–6 hours, up to 6 times daily
- Adults and children over 12 years: 10ml every 4–6 hours
Do not exceed the stated dose.
If symptoms persist or worsen, seek advice from a pharmacist or GP.

Side Effects & Warnings
- For oral use only.
- May cause drowsiness. If affected, do not drive, cycle or use tools or machines.
- Avoid alcohol while taking this medicine.
- Do not use if your child is allergic to chlorphenamine or any of the ingredients.
- Consult a pharmacist or GP before use if your child has asthma, glaucoma, epilepsy, or is taking other medicines.
Possible side effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, stomach upset or headache.
