Piriton Allergy Tablets - 30 Tablets

Piriton Allergy Tablets are a drowsy (sedating) antihistamine used for the symptomatic relief of a wide range of allergic conditions. Each tablet contains chlorphenamine maleate 4mg, which helps reduce allergy symptoms by blocking the effects of histamine.

Helps relieve symptoms caused by:

• Hayfever and other allergies (for example pet, house dust mite and mould spore allergies)
• Nettle rash (urticaria) / hives and other itchy skin allergies/dermatitis
• Insect bites and stings
• Reactions to foods, food additives or medicines
• Prickly heat / heat rash
• The itchy rash of chickenpox

Because chlorphenamine can cause drowsiness, some people find it useful when allergy symptoms are troublesome at night (follow dose guidance).

For oral use. Swallow with water. Follow the leaflet directions.

Adults and children aged 12 years and over

• Take 1 tablet every 4–6 hours as needed.
• Do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours.

Children aged 6 to 12 years

• Give ½ tablet every 4–6 hours as needed.
• Do not give more than 3 tablets (i.e., 6 half tablets) in 24 hours.

Children under 6 years

• Not recommended for this tablet product.

Other ingredients: Lactose, Maize starch, Yellow iron oxide (E172), Magnesium stearate, Purified water.

Important warnings

• May cause drowsiness. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery. Avoid alcohol.
• Do not take if you have ever had an allergic reaction to antihistamines or any ingredient in the tablets.
• Do not take if you have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) for depression within the last 14 days.
• Do not take with other antihistamine-containing medicines, including some cough/cold products, unless advised.

Possible side effects (can occur in some people)

• Drowsiness/sleepiness, dizziness, dry mouth, blurred vision, nausea/vomiting, difficulty concentrating (more likely at higher doses).

Get urgent help and stop taking if you develop signs of a serious allergic reaction (such as swelling of the face/lips/tongue/throat or breathing difficulty).

Storage: Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Store as directed on the packaging.
